Voodoo

Voodoo was a beautiful, powerful American Staffordshire Terrier we photographed in January 2011 at the Adams County Animal Shelter in Brighton, Colorado. ACAS hesitated to include her in the photo shoot because her excessive strength demanded special handling. In fact, she was so strong the shelter deemed Voodoo unadoptable and scheduled her for euthanasia; they did not believe anyone capable of handling her would ever show up.

Fortunately for Voodoo, the kennel manager knew about the life-saving power of a great picture and not only allowed us to photograph her, she also gave the picture time to work. It took two months, but the right person with the necessary skills saw it and fell in love with Voodoo before ever meeting her in person. When they finally met, the compatibility test was a mere formality as he had already made up his mind - Voodoo was his and he was taking her home! Because of our picture, Voodoo's life was spared and a family was made whole!
